Making an evening of it
We made an evening of this graduation session at Adelaide University, with individual portraits, family photos and a wander around campus.
There were photos with mum, photos as a couple and a few hugs in Bonython Hall. I shot a mix of portraits looking at the camera and the little moments in between.
Around campus
We stopped at the big blue university letters, then headed into Bonython Hall for photos by the illuminated AUSGRADS sign. The cap and gown stayed in for some shots; the white outfit and flowers had their own turn too.
Outside, the sandstone doorways, columns and steps gave us a few different spots to work with. I shot wider to include the buildings, then came in closer for the family portraits.

Bookshelves and city lights
The library was on the wish list, so we made time for it. We took some portraits between the bookshelves and a few playful photos together in the aisles.
We carried on after dark too. The last few couple portraits were on a bridge, with the city lights in the background.

No. I’ll give you some direction as we go. You don’t need to turn up with a list of poses, and we can mix the more formal photos with a walk, a chat and photos together.
Yes. Tell me which buildings or spots you have in mind and we’ll work out a route. We’ll also check access and leave time to get between them.
We can look at it. Let me know which library you’d like to use so we can check access and any photography rules. A library stop was part of this session.
Starting before sunset gives us daylight to work with outside. We can carry on after dark with flash too. Tell me your ceremony time and we’ll work out what fits.
Yes. We can include both. If you’d also like to change outfits, let me know beforehand so there’s time to change without rushing the photos.
