WESS Welding Tech Centre Photography and Video
I photographed and filmed the new WESS Welding Tech Centre in Wingfield, working through the classroom, welding bays and equipment before following a practical welding demonstration.
I was back later for the WESS trade night, with supplier stands, live demos and a masterclass.
Inside the new Tech Centre
WESS needed photos for its brochure and website, along with footage for a Tech Centre promo and an update to the wider WESS film. This first session covered the facility and the equipment in use.
Theory beside practical training
The classroom sits alongside the practical area, with multiple welding bays ready for training. I photographed both rooms and the views between them, then moved in closer to the equipment and controls.

More than the sparks
I followed the work from the setup to the finished weld, photographing the controls, protective equipment and welding in progress. The sparks are only one part of what happens in the bay.
Photographing a working facility
If you need photos of a workshop or training space, send me the areas and processes you want covered. I can plan photography and video around the rooms, equipment and people at work.
Faqs
Frequently asked questions
Start with identity, classroom and workshop-wide views, then add teaching details, equipment, safety setup and real operation. That mix explains both the facility and how it is used.
It helps to allow time for clear room views before practical demonstrations begin. Then I can photograph the equipment and people at work without trying to clear the room again.
Yes. This WESS session included photos and footage for a centre promo, a wider film update and short vertical reels. Let me know what you need from each format so we can allow time for both.
The operator and site team need to confirm the work area, PPE and any restrictions first. Let me know which demonstrations can be photographed and where I can work without getting in the way.
Straight room views, clear branding, readable equipment context and a mix of wide and detail frames give designers more usable options than action photographs alone.
No. I can photograph the empty rooms and equipment, then people using them. At WESS, the set included the classroom, workshop and practical welding demonstrations.
Yes. Tell me where the photos and videos will be used so I can plan for both landscape and vertical formats. Any repeated demonstrations need to be agreed with the operator.
Send me the location, the spaces and equipment to cover, the processes you can demonstrate and where the photos will be used. Let me know if you need video too. There's more about commercial photography here.
