An hour at Stockwell Hotel, with speeches, cake and a few family groups to fit in. The brief for this 21st was simple: get the group shots and keep the rest candid.

An hour at the pub

I joined the party at the country pub just outside Nuriootpa. The room was dim, with some of the celebration outside, so I worked with the available light as everyone settled into the night.

Family and mates together

We made time for the family and friend groups without turning the party into a long photo session. Between those, I photographed the conversations, speeches and cake.

A little of the whole night

The birthday photos include the pub, the crowd and the smaller moments between the formalities. A short booking still gave us a mix of group photos and candid frames.
