I joined the Law Society of South Australia at its North Terrace headquarters for a gathering of senior and honorary members. There was a welcome, a room full of conversation and new honour boards to photograph.

An afternoon in the Members Lounge

The Society wanted the afternoon photographed without turning it into a series of posed group shots. I covered the arrivals, welcome and conversations as members caught up over refreshments.

Working with the room

The Members Lounge had dark walls, reflective surfaces and soft light. I worked without flash, photographing speakers and guests without stopping their conversations.

The honour boards

The new Senior and Honorary Member boards were displayed alongside memorabilia from the Society’s history. I photographed the boards and the members spending time around them.

Yes. Include them in the brief so I can cover the displays as well as the people and formalities.
